Andy Stewart
Blackpool’s finest Medal Bloater.
BLOATERS

Well this makes a refreshing change from SAS, Para, deep sea special forces cake fighting units, but a Bloater he is so let’s begin.
Say Hi to Andy Stewart of Blackpool who pinged interest from members of his regiment the 1st Battalion The Queen’s Lancashire Regiment.
Andy had recently got married which had been put off a few times due to that poxy covid 19. When the happy couple posted their wedding pictures on social media some could not help but notice something rather odd!
The Tip off
Hello mate. Hope all is well. I ain’t sure if some of my colleges have already spoken to you reference this absolute screamer but he was 1 Lancs joined in 2004, left a few years later and in between that time we didn’t go on tour at all, he got kicked out when Telic and Herrick came around but got married last week and is wearing both, Telic and Herrick medals! Can you get any gen on him? His name is Andy Stewart and lives in Blackpool
A few guys privately and openly posted requests for an explanation for wearing two operational service medals which all believe he had not earned.
Many of his former QLR buddies were not impressed with him wearing medals to tours he didn’t go on and the lads from the Lancs want to know what he’s he playing at!

But total radio silence. How odd!
So as per our SOP’s a CC1 went out.
This was just a few out of over 100 guys who were able to positively ID him and who all confirmed he had never deployed to either ops.
The response was huge and extremely fast in establishing fact from fiction.

Records show no operational tours.
Some might say so what it’s just a few medals, but most will disagree as medals are earned and worn with pride for good reason. Some did not come back from these operations.
Verdict
Bloater.
