Possibly the worst Walter Mitty we have come across…. Possibly beating Tony Cumper and his extreme Cumpery!

Joseph Goebbels attributed the remark that ‘if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually believe it’.

In fact the Nazi propagandist-in-chief never said this; but the phrase has stuck because it encapsulates the most unscrupulous aspect of Cumpery as you will read.

"Hi I’ve just been asked if you could have a look at a bloke called Ken Raybourne he is currently going around saying he is a ex Household cavalry officer (major in the Blues and Royals) and is using this to promote his riding school ( trying to get a link to his riding school). His profile is part public but there is no info on it. We have people who have checked the Cav old nominal rolls and his name is not coming up. Any help you can give us would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
More to this it’s been found out he has tried to pass himself off as a RMP with para wings in the also stated he was a WO2 at Sandhurst for a while."

Just wanted to message you as ive heard some disturbing information, i believe you are looking for me for supposedley being a walt, i have to tell you that my ex girlfriend who i have now found out hacked my facebook account and has put some lies and downright upsetting things on a page on face book, she has mental issues and is supposed to be getting help for alcoholism and her living in a dream world, i also found out to make her look good within the horse community she has told people i was with the the Army, yes i served for 6mths when i was 16 but was Md but nothing more, i am now puting a post on my page stating my acct was hacked and it has been reported to the police and facebook.

With not much to go on and Kens page sanitised we thought we was onto a loser. Then a few people who had witnessed his cumpery came forward. Here are just a few as this is beginning to get like war and peace.

I came across Ken Raybourne earlier this year. He was working on a yard and the lady horse he was working on mentioned something about did he used to be in the army. He said yes, so she called Ken over and said this guy used to be in the army – Ken then replied that he was a Riding Instructor in the Blues and Royals. Excellent, so was I my partner said – when were you in? Ken – walked off to do a job. When he came back, my Partner said he left in ’97, Ken said he was in after that! “When were you in?” – Ken “I’m not good with dates!”. my Partner now suspicious. “Do you know …” My Partner lists a few people that he should have known. Ken – I’m not good with names!!! When my Partner returned home he contacted a few mates from the Cav who were still in after he left and some who have only just left – No-one had heard of him. The plot then thickens … my Partner is on a local yard about a month later and was asked, by a customer, what a typical Cavalry Officer would act/dress like.

my Partner explained his understanding of an Officer from the Household Cavalry. “So, he wouldn’t turn up for an interview in jeans” . Our customer is involved with the South Downs Bloodhounds and had heard from the Master of the Hunt that they had been approached by an ex Major from the Household Cavalry trying to become one of the Masters for the hunt. My Partner then said “his name isn’t Ken is it?” – customer replies “Yes, Ken Raybourne!!!”. Apparently he’s been working in Co-op, just the place you’d expect an ex-Major of the Household Cavalry to work! Thought this might be of interest to you.

In the summer of 2011 I joined a dating site called plenty of fish and met ken rayborne. He told me he was a Warrant Officer in the Army working at Sandhurst. I have worked with the Royal Navy/Royal Marines for the past 27 years so thought we might have something in common. Ken didn’t really fit the profile for a WO in the Army and after date No 2 I was beginning to have my suspicions.

After making a few phone calls turned out the only service he has ever seen was in the Army cadets !!!! When I confronted him about his service number and the fact none of his stories added up he told me he was arguing with solicitors about his divorce and I never heard from him again, that is until now when he has miraculously gone from a WO to a Major in the cavalry. I didn’t realise the Army had such good promotion incentives. As a friend of two ex serving cavalry personnel we can confirm Mr Rayborne has never served in the cavalry. Mr Rayborne has lied his way into people’s lives with a string of false tales including one that he was going out to Afghanistan to do close protection work with Prince Harry and special forces.

For those of us that work in that sort of environment we all know information like that is on a need to know basis and you don’t going telling somebody you have only met twice !!! Mr Rayborne has claimed that his facebook account has been hacked and somebody has put on there he is ex cavalry, well i can confirm that he was on plenty of fish twice, once claiming to be a WO and the second time as a Major. I spend my working day serving our armed forces and for somebody to do this is as low and pathetic as it gets.

I used to be with in the Sussex Army Cadet when Ken was there and he did claim to me he was ex RMP and I can tell you its fact as he used to wear RMP tops and im sure he was wearing Paras wings on his combat jacket once. I don’t think he lasted long. Sorry I could not help more.

Ken Raybourne, the guy is living in his own world. He’s claiming his ex hacked his account but that doesn’t explain what he said to me about serving in the Blues and Royals as a riding instructor. I mentioned names of guys i served with on the riding staff some who are now commissioned and still serving, he knew none of them. The riding staff at Knightsbridge is a very small department within the regiment and everybody knows everybody.

Ive also a friend who is involved with the South Downs BloodHounds and our Ken approached them about a vacancy they had to be one of the masters, claiming he was an ex Major from the Household Cavalry. l’ll try and get my friend to like your page so he can see whats going on, he’s not ex military so may not want to. Why do people think they can get away with, I served 15yrs including my time at JLR RAC and don’t have a medal to my name but loved every minute of my time being a pony soldier. Keep up the good work.

I believe I am the ex-girlfriend, which the above is referring to in his statement to you on 3rd August 2014. I most certainly did not hack into his Facebook account (I wouldn’t know how!) My Facebook account was not closed down, I removed myself from it after he attempted to hack into my account. I neither have mental or alcohol issues. The man is a liar, a cheat and a thief. I have no need “to look good in the horse community” by association with him as he stated. I am a BHSAI qualified riding instructor and have been for over 20 years with my own livery yard. The Natalie Williams, who also voiced an opinion on your page, is in fact a transgender man called Tony and as far as I am aware, they live together in Guildford.

July/August 2013 -Kenneth Raybourne first contacted me on ‘Plenty of Fish,’ an online on a dating website, through a shared interest of horses!! He told me he was an Army Major (retired) in the Household Calvary for 30 years but still based at the London barracks, training horses. He then told me that due to cut backs, his unit was being transferred to Kettering but had decided that he did not want to relocate and had handed in his resignation. He has the full army kit, complete with name badges, medals (apparently awarded) and said he had worked under Close Protection for the Royal Family, served in Afghanistan and Iraq. He also told her that any day he expected to receive confirmation that he had been awarded a Knighthood and urged me to buy an outfit for Buckingham Palace! We first met in September 2013. In December 2013 he moved in with me, he was unemployed with no money whatsoever.

I kept him for nearly 3 months, feeding him, supplying his cigarettes and putting petrol in his car. He told me at this time that he was waiting for his army pension to be processed and as soon as it was he would repay me. He eventually got a job at the local Co-operative store in Four Marks, which only lasted for a couple of months when he was dismissed for stealing! I only discovered the reason for his dismissal this week when I met with the Manager of the Co-op. Meanwhile, at the same time, he asked if a friend of his, who was “going through a rough time “could also stay in my house.

This man, Tony, is a transgender (also known as Natalie Williams) stayed in my house for a month, during which time, despite being on benefits, contributed nothing, and I subsequently asked him to leave. Raybourne had recently proposed to me and even visited the vicar at my local church to set the date. He has three children, two from a previous marriage and one from a previous relationship.

They visited regularly for weekends. I believe they are not aware of this man’s deception. On Friday, 1st August, a note was put through my front door, asking me to call ****** ********. I did so, the gentleman said his name was David Tamsin from the MOD and quoted his army number:-25102953. He asked me if I knew a Kenneth Raybourne? He said they had been trying to trace him as he had been posing as an army officer. I immediately confronted Raybourne, he admitted to lying and I told him to get out! However, on calling back David Tamsin for further information, the number was answered by a woman who said that she had never heard of a David Tamsin and that she was nothing to do with the MOD – the plot thickens!

Raybourne returned later in the evening and as he had nowhere to go, I stupidly agreed to let him stay in the spare room. The following morning I went to work, on returning, he had gone, taking his lap-top, camera and file, complete with all his fictitious army records in. On the same day he emptied my bank account, which unfortunately and once again stupidly, I had put in joint names.

I made contact with his ex-wife who told me, when married to her, he had been a postman! I also contacted his sister, who was not in the least surprised, said that he had done it before, and that time, had posed as a Military Policeman. I contacted the Household Calvary Foundation, who recommended I contacted the Police, I did this but was advised to contact the Military Police, they said that as Raybourne was not army personnel, he could not be charged by them, but to refer it back to the Civil Police. I did so, and subsequently, PC D P from Winchester Police Station, visited my home and took a statement. I understand, in the eyes of the law, this man has done nothing wrong and has been allowed to get away with this totally irresponsible behaviour.

The fact remains, that he is still on the dating website under five different profiles, which will result, no doubt, in him deceiving yet more unsuspecting women! I have nothing but the deepest admiration and pride for the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces and find it absolutely unbelievable that this low-life has been allowed to get away with it for so long. I am behind you 100% in your efforts to shame this despicable and obviously, very sick

I feel very foolish at the moment but then being an honest person I cannot comprehend what some people will do. I have not looked at other dating websites but he has 5 different profiles on plenty of fish. I never even looked at his profile, he messaged me saying he never thought he would find someone with same occupation on the site. So from the start before even meeting the lie had begun.

Now after all that Ken wanted to come clean but only to Witness 2.(We never really had the Screen shots from POF) oopps 😉 However, Ken had been very busy pruning his page and deleting other comments but, we at the WMHC-HQ like the fact Ken was quick to Pm us once he knew people were onto him and more or less started “Mud Slinging” in order to get us off the sent.

So we set up a fake profile to see if Ken would take the bait. He did just that and like the sly old fox he is, once he thought he had some hot intel, Ken changed his mind about confessing and then started resorting to blackmail with his new found information to stop us from exposing him.

While he accepted his new bezzy mate. His hidden photos were perused and ohh look

Photos in 2011 wearing a household cavalry top and anothers wearing a Royal Military Police Close Protection top, Strange. His Ex’s must have met up and all gone back in time, photo shopped the tops, Hacked him before they both met. Knowing from the time displacement globe both kept in their handbag that they would one day fall out and hate him that much, Wow!

Sorry, but you should take a leaf out of Dan Scowens book who has just fessed up and sent his apologies, He will be respected for it, you watch! There is far to much evidence that shows you was walting it. By your own admission you was doing it on POF. if you look at your early posts you claimed it was not true and that you had only joined POF. Then admit it. So telling the truth is not a strong point with you. There is also a member from the Surrey cadet force with their comments on your claims and badges worn. Two people from the South Downs hounds page who have came forward claiming you personally told them in the “Yard” you was a Major and served as a Riding Instructor in the Blues and Royals. A third person a “Master of the Hunt” claims you personally approached them claiming the same and trying to be one of the Masters of the Hunt.

The same units in your original post that you claim you have never made out to be and was just your Ex trying to blacken your name, are you going to try and say your ex hacked them too?

Ken then wanted to fess up and it was a half arsed attempt at that., but sod it. He had his chance! He used the reputation and uniform of the Armed Forces for personal gain and was only sorry for getting exposed.

Then it got worse with Ken making out he was going to do something silly in a vain attempt to play for sympathy for the situation he put himself in then his dodgy past started to surface.
